For more than two decades, Jane de Witt has been at the heart of New Zealand winemaking, creating sparkling wines that bring people together to celebrate life’s moments.

Jane’s journey began with a fascination for wine yeasts while studying microbiology, a spark that quickly grew into a lifelong passion for sparkling wine. Her career has taken her from New Zealand’s cellar doors to the vineyards of Champagne, Alsace, Bordeaux, and Italy, before returning home to craft some of Aotearoa’s most loved bubbles.

As Lindauer’s head winemaker, Jane combines science and creativity to craft wines that are vibrant, approachable, and full of joy. She leads the blending of Lindauer Classic, Special Reserve, Vintage, and Prosecco- ensuring every glass captures the signature style that makes Lindauer so celebrated.

For Jane, sparkling wine is about more than winemaking — it’s about people. She believes great wine should be accessible, affordable, and unforgettable, bringing the sparkle to everyday occasions and big celebrations alike.

When she’s not in the vineyard or the winery, Jane enjoys family life in Te Arai, walks on the beach, and sharing a glass of bubbles with friends.
